Most Commonly Asked Questions about Creditily

How Do I Cancel My Account?

While Creditily is free software, you might be paying for a third-party credit monitoring subscription that provides your credit report and scores to your Creditily account. Here’s how to close your paid subscription account.  You can email us at [email protected] so that we may assist you in cancelling your third-party credit monitoring subscription.

Can Creditily remove late payments, inquiries, collections, etc.?

Any account can be repaired or deleted from your credit report IF and only IF it’s not reporting accurately or cannot be verified by the data furnisher...that’s the law. When Creditily imports and scans your credit report, it finds all of your negative accounts, looks for twenty different kinds of errors, then guides you through the simple steps to create disputes. You can dispute any account you want including collections, inquiries, late payments, etc. It might take several rounds of dispute letters to determine if an account can be deleted so stay the course and let the software guide you through the process.

How does the software work?

Creditily is a DIY software platform that guides you though the entire credit repair process.

It automatically imports and scans your three-bureau credit report, finds your negative accounts, looks for twenty different kinds of errors, then creates your dispute letters.

It performs the same function as a full service credit repair company only you print and mail the dispute letters yourself. Creditily will automatically import and scan your new credit report every 40 days to provide the results and guide you through the next disputes letters until your credit repair has finished. Creditily is free software, you only pay for a compatible three bureau monitoring account.

Why are my scores different/inaccurate?

There’s a lot of confusion when it comes to credit scores. Most of it has to do with these reasons.

1. You don’t have a credit report sitting somewhere waiting to be provided when you ask for it. Your credit report and scores are created the moment they’re requested using the information your creditors have provided up to that moment in time. Not all of your creditors update your file on the same day. Because of this reason, your credit report and scores can be different from one day to the next.

Example: Let’s say you got a credit report on Monday. Then Tuesday one of your credit card providers updated your account showing the balance has been paid off. On Wednesday your credit report and likely your scores would be different because of the newly updated account information.

2. There are two primary scoring models used in the United States…VantageScore and FICO. Because VantageScore and FICO use different mathematical formulas to calculate your credit score they will almost always be different. In addition to that, FICO has dozens of “industry specific” scores. Your auto, mortgage, credit card, and insurance FICO scores are calculated differently and create different scores.

Example: If someone has a 710 VantageScore, then later checks their credit card app and sees a 680 FICO score, it doesn’t mean their credit score dropped. It’s two different scoring models that produced two different credit scores.

Who sends the disputes letters?

As a do it yourself software platform, you select the accounts you would like to dispute, Creditily creates the letters for you so you can print and mail them. When working to repair your credit there’s two very important things to consider.

1. Disputes must be sent by you. The Fair Credit Reporting Act permits credit bureaus and your creditors can ignore letters that have been sent by somebody other than you.

2, Send physical letters so you have a paper trail. Paper letters are handled differently by the credit bureaus and typically have much greater success than online disputes.

Sending the letters yourself is one of the reasons why people using Creditily are getting the same if not better results than hiring a credit repair company.
